Hanoi is the name given to the famed capital of Vietnam and the second largest city in the country – it lies on the right bank of the Red River and is located north of Ho Chi Minh City and west of Hai Phong city.
In October 2010 Hanoi city officially marked 1000 years since it’s establishment and the famous 4km Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mural was created to mark the occasion.
Hanoi has become Vietnam’s gastronomic centre, although Ho Chi Minh City residents may disagree. The capital’s combination of traditional Vietnamese food and influences from French cuisine results in some of the best restaurants in South East Asia. The city’s café culture also allows many unique establishments to thrive.
Inspired by the capital’s vast array of traditional Vietnamese dishes and the very first of it’s kind to open in the Emirates, Hanoi authentic Vietnamese Eateries are in Dubai and Abu Dhabi – with a fourth outlet opening later this year in Ras Al Khaimah.
Located at Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) Hanoi Naturally Dubai is unique in the sense that it’s a casual, contemporary diner that has established it’s niche, serving food that everyone can afford and without the need to compete with luxury hotel located Vietnamese restaurants.
For Abu Dhabi diners there are two locations in the heart of the city to choose from serving both lunch and supper – just CLICK HERE for address and telephone number details although it’s not usually necessary to reserve a table.
A firm favourite is Banh Xeo (Dhs 25.00) a fried pancake, stuffed with prawn and chicken and served with a tangy dipping sauce, followed by the noodle soup ‘Pho dac Biet’ (Dhs 29) known as the ‘Hanoi Special Broth’. A comforting dish with dumplings, meat and white noodles.
For a main course try Bo Kho (Dhs 48) – a braised tender lemongrass beef stew, served in a clay pot with a side of French baguette. Loaded with flavour, diners really enjoy the tender meat and slow cooked carrots and potatoes.
Hanoi Naturally is a clean, simple eaterie well worth trying for a no-fuss meal. If you’re feeling adventurous there are plenty of Vietnamese dishes that will delight you – all authentically cooked in an open kitchen by Hanoi’s own team of Vietnamese chefs.
‘For the price, the food here is delicious. I’ve tried the summer rolls, a couple of different buns (rice noodle bowls), a caramelised fish dish which was amazing and a couple of other things. Everything was pretty good and some were fantastic. The restaurant itself is no frills but for a casual meal it’s definitely nice enough’. Megan – Zomato.
